Jewellery Care

General care should be taken with your jewellery. Please remove before showering, sleeping, swimming, playing contact sports and gardening. Nature of Gold chains are of a high quality but fine and will not withstand children pulling at them and sleeping in them. Please wear them mindfully and remember they are not indestructible. If you believe you need a heavier gauge chain please contact bec@natureofgold.com.au for options and a quote.

Stone sets can be cleaned by placing piece in a bowl of warm water with a mild detergent.  Using a baby toothbrush clean gently around stone.  Pat dry and shine up with a polishing cloth.

Opal care

Opals are a very soft stone and need extra care. Please lay pieces with opals down gently when removing, opal side up. Opals do not like extreme changes in temperature. Please avoid wearing them if playing contact sports and jobs that are hard on the hands ( working in the garden, moving furniture). Opals will crack if hit hard enough. Clean gently around setting with a baby toothbrush and a bowl of warm water with a mild detergent. pat dry and give your piece a shine with a polishing cloth.

Stones + metals

We use semi precious and precious stones from reputable Australian gem dealers. All diamonds are conflict free. Metals used are 9ct gold and sterling silver. NO plating or gold fill is used in our jewellery.

Over time any Sterling silver will oxidise when exposed to air. If you wont be wearing your silver for a while store in a zip lock bag (removing as much air as possible )  in a cool dark place away from sources of sunlight air and water.  Don't leave jewellery in a bathroom unprotected. Humidity and moisture will make it tarnish faster.
